More About Sam

The first thing that intrigued Sam about hairdressing is a desire for independence and a career without limits. Now that she has been in the game a while, it’s about working with professionals, moms, and men who want an excellent cut. She doesn’t consider herself to be avant-garde or someone into rainbow hair colors, but someone who is a master of every day, lived-in, wearable hair that is beautiful and classic.

“The Hair Standard is in a great location at Town Center and Charleston! I have been a client at this salon for over 2 years but have been a client of my stylist, Samantha McMurrin's, for approximately 5 years. I have been a loyal client because of Samantha's professionalism, consistency and her commitment to providing all of my hair services including color, highlights, cuts and blowdries over the years. Samantha is a perfectionist and is always punctual and very accommodating. My daughters are also clients of Samantha's and I appreciate her time and patience when cutting & styling everyone's hair. I would (and have) referred her to friends of mine, who have now become clients too!”

“I had been going to the same stylist for years and I liked my hair, but I never truly loved it. Then I met Samantha and that changed. From the moment I sat down for the consultation to when she styled and colored my hair, she listened to what I wanted and delivered. I was a golden blonde and with her help, I became an icy blonde with very natural looking extensions. It's very important to have a hair stylist that you trust, and honestly Samantha has become family. Not only do I love my hair now, but I constantly get people stopping me on the street asking me who does my hair. Thanks Samantha!”

Sam’s Seniority

When Sam worked as a receptionist at a hair salon, that salon was Moxie. Moxie eventually closed down and the building stayed empty for a few years. Fun fact, that building is what now is The Hair Standard. You could say Sam has been at the salon longer than anyone, even the owners!
