A Tough Decision

After high school, Skylar was pushed to go to college. Believing that was the right thing to do, she went to the University of Nevada, Reno, for a year and then decided college wasn’t for her. When she came home to pick a different career path, she thought she should follow in some of her friend’s footsteps and go to hair school. She ended up loving her decision.

Friendly Encouragement

Skylar has a friend that encouraged her to go to hair school. She helped Skylar pick a school and has given her so much confidence and experience. Because of that encouragement, she has come a long way in the hair industry.

Hair Education Journey

Skylar attended Paul Mitchell for school. However, It ended up taking her an extra six months to finish school because of COVID-19. Because of this, she was not able to take clients, so most of her hands-on experience has come from her time assisting Kenzie, in the salon, and being able to her clients.

A Valuable Lesson

Throughout her hair education journey, Skylar has learned that everything is really about perspective. Everyone likes and sees things different. Therefore, it is so important to communicate and have a great consultation to nail and look.

Cats and Car Rides

When Skylar has a day off she loves to spend time with her husband and family. They like to go bowling and watch movies. Skylar loves to go on car rides with her cats, Bruno and Athena. In her free time, Skylar loves to find new hobbies and go on different adventures.
