Kelsey’s passion for hairstyling began in kindergarten, where she first imagined herself as a hairstylist. As she grew older, her path led her in a different direction, and she pursued a degree in nursing. However, a side venture into lash extensions reignited her love for beauty, ultimately leading her to cosmetology school.
Attending cosmetology school was a whirlwind experience for Kelsey, especially since she was pregnant at the time. Despite the challenges, she persevered and graduated from the Academy of Hair Design. Her time as an assistant was crucial in building her confidence and skills, as it provided real-world experience that complemented her formal education.
Kelsey’s biggest lesson so far is the understanding that growth is constant. “There’s always room to grow,” she says, acknowledging that the hairstyling industry is ever-evolving, and learning never truly ends. This mindset drives her to continuously refine her craft and stay ahead of trends.
Kelsey is drawn to the effortless elegance of balayage, a technique that creates a soft, natural blend of colors. She loves how customizable it is, whether clients want bright, bold highlights or more subtle dimension.
